| Might be best to rescue them if you still have them and if they are important. Do what Alan has done. Once they have been scanned into the computer and saved as files, some can even be enhanced to their former condition if they haven't deteriorated too much.
Prints can last OK but some from the 60s and 70s seem to suffer from not being processed properly at the time of developing. The colours fade even though they have been stored in the dark inside an album. They can't have been in the fixer for long enough or something. We have some prints like that. |

| dear hobbyist -why should photos be important don't they just become dusty meaningless history signifying nothing - people sitting around in boring evenings going arhh look at him isn't he so young ? |

I said 'if they are important'. It wasn't clear if you were throwing them out just because they are unviewable. If they are not wanted anyway, that's different. |
