A quarter of the UK's mammals are under threat of extinction, we need less intensive farming and more  conservation areas.

one species tiger  is re-emerging in Thailand again so they seem to be doing something right or maybe it's just accidental?

There does seem to be more awareness of wildlife conservation these days, so I hope the decline in English species can be halted. On the other hand, we need our crops and I think we're always going to need to balance wildlife survival with the necessity to feed ourselves and survive.

I'm always in two minds about the 'Save The Tiger' campaigns. Tigers like to eat people. Paying for something that would like to kill me could be money misspent. If faced with a tiger, would it take any notice if I told it I contributed a few Pounds towards its survival ..or would it eat me anyway?

You know what I mean Davo. Not me personally here and now. I put myself in a hypothetical situation, unless I were to go to Thailand or India when of course the real situation might apply.

Anyway, not so hypothetical for those who live where tigers have been known to drag people off. Maybe one of them wouldn't thank me for a donation.
