Bizarre: Russia Paints Dirty Snow White.

Residents in one coal-mining Russian town were stunned when their usual brown snow mysteriously turned white. The authorities have been accused of using ‘modern technology’ to hide the effects of pollution with white paint.

It makes you wonder why they suddenly decided to bother. Surely they've always had dirty snow.
I don't know about tarting up mining villages in Russia ....... it might be a good idea here in the local parks where some dogs have got caught short. drum
