Curiosity caused me to try the "Insert image" again - but instead of logging on I hit "subscribe".

A window opens for the hosting website "https://servimg.com/images.php" which asked me to log on.

I entered my Email and my Murgs password and I was admitted.

Ah .. I didn't do that and go off site to log in on at servimg.
That's what I did different.

I wonder if this means we've all now got an individual account with them?
I'm only a thick pig you know.

I followed the way you did it Alan and it still didn't recognise my email or password.

Bet you're getting sick of me Malcolm.
I'm beginning to sound like you did with Azz. teacup

How come the setup has changed?
Before it used to be so simple. You just uploaded your image and grabbed your code and pasted it.
It still does !.....have you changed your email address or password recently ?

What do you do then Malcolm ... do you fill in your forum password with no problems?

Clear your cache and delete your cookies, then change your password and try again

I did clear my cache and delete my cookies, without changing my password .. but that didn't sort it.
And I don't fancy changing my password.

I rarely upload any pictures so it's not a big problem for me.

Meerkat might like to try it though. Hope it works for her.

I can confirm that to my surprise, I now have an account with them. I have never asked for one but it would appear that this forum has registered me and passed on my Email address and Murgs password.

There has definitely been a change in the way we download images - we now have to log into the servimg site rather than Murgs - but use our Email address rather than our Murgs name. I have tried using my Murgs name instead of my Email address and it isn't recognised.

I'm thinking this through as I type ..
The bit where you said ..
this forum has registered me and passed on my Email address and Murgs password.

I don't like the sound of that. Bit cheeky isn't it?
It could be they didn't know your password until you filled it in .. but did know your e-mail address?
On the other hand .. if your account now has all the pictures you've ever uploaded here it indicates it can differentiate between users.

More confusing .. from what I've managed to glean on Forumotion's support forum they themselves pay Servimg  to host a lot of their graphics.
It's the forum owner/founder who registers for the unlimited storage account when they first add all the bells and whistles to their forum. Not the members themselves.

I need a lie down.

I'm sure they will be aware of the situation if it is affecting other forums and they will be working on it.
