According to a message I get, I don't have the rights to reply to Goldie's latest post about AVG in the Computer Matters forum. Any suggestions?

Are you signed in?

I went a whole day some weeks ago generating new posts and then found out I was unable to reply to one of them - one of my own!

This was when there was something of the problem on the site and it wouldn't hold on to signings in.

Yes, I am logged in pops. I've made a couple of posts elsewhere that have been OK.

I know what is happening. I composed my post in an external text editor rather than typed it into the forum box. The thread won't accept the pasted text for some reason. I can't even preview the post without getting that message. If I delete the copy/pasted text and type 'Hello', the post will preview OK and would presumably post if I were to try it.

I will Malcolm ..although I have been using Jarte in plain text mode for years without a problem. It should just be plain text.

I think I really know what it is now. It is the content of the post. I'd written a bit about how the Clipboard works and the post contained some words that are perhaps filtered by the forum software? Try typing No rights Bank_zpsblerwqf2 into a post and see what happens when you try to preview it.

I've had to make a small image of the 'bank' words to get the point across.

Am I still protected or should I be looking for extra security. I wonder why some apps still want access to your pictures and contacts. They say you should never use location services too. murgs dance
