| Supermarket fish is factory ship caught and processed. It can be a month old by the time you get it.
My daughter lives near Grimsby and can obtain line caught cod and other fish that was swimming in the sea no more than 24 hours before.
There is a big difference in taste and texture.
We buy fish from a local fishmonger which almost as fresh - the only supermarket fish of any quality by us is from Waitrose or Morrisons. ----------------------------------------- This post may contain controversial personal opinion, humour, ironic comment or sarcasm. | The supermarket that I use for fish is Morrisons. I wish we had a fishmonger nearby but unfortunately we don't. I agree about Grimsby fish. My son used to live in Doncaster, and we visited Doncaster fish market, everything that day was fresh from Grimsby, only a few miles away. ----------------------------------------- Gustav Mahler is the finest composer who ever lived. |

| There is a mobile fishmonger that collects fish from Grimsby at dawn, drives down to Solihull and parks on several pub car parks during the day selling his wares. He comes 3 days a week and seems to do well.
